Subj: [kl] Problem with Plastic and Blue Steel

Listers,

I currently have two clarinets, each with a problem I hope one of you may be
able to help me resolve.

First off, my #4 Table key (aka "middle C" key) recently had it's pad
replaced because it fell out during a Marching Band Rehearsal (it getting to
be that time again). But, now, when I play by B on the upper reguister using
standard fingering (all fingers down), it is nearly 50 cents sharp. The note
is fine on the other fingering (Bb with #3 index side key), and all the
other keys work fine, with very little deviation during tuning.

I've checked all the seals, and can see any problem.

Okay, second problem involves my wood Buffet Intenational (it's the one
between E-12s and E-13s). The lower blue spring that makes the same Table #4
key above spring back, has become weak, and when I press the "B" key
(similar to above), it take a while for the key to come back when I go up to
"C", so I can't get the responsiveness anymore when I'm down there.

I'm guessing that I need to lubricate the joints, but using the key oil is a
very big deal for me, and I try to limit the times I do, so i was wondering
if there are any other solutions. I've been consistantly using the clarinet
throughout summer (or winter, depending on where you are).

Thanks for any help...
