Dear Barb: The Yamaha 34 is not an intermediate horn--that would be the
Yamaha 52. The 34 is a student horn made of wood. I have the specs (bore
size, etc.) at Mars if you want to know anything else about it, including
the
list price. I couldn't really advise you about going for it without knowing
the asking price. The Normandy 4 is also a wooden student-level clarinet,
so
basically the 2 horns are the same level. Unless you just want a newer
clarinet, you should check out a Vito VSP, a Noblet, the Yamaha 52, Selmer
Signet or CL210 or 220, or Buffet E11, E12, or E13. Hope this helps.

To me the Normandy is not in the same class as the YCL-34. The E-11 IS in
the same class as the YCL-34.
