Dear Barb: The Yamaha 34 is not an intermediate horn--that would be the
Yamaha 52. The 34 is a student horn made of wood. I have the specs (bore
size, etc.) at Mars if you want to know anything else about it, including the
list price. I couldn't really advise you about going for it without knowing
the asking price. The Normandy 4 is also a wooden student-level clarinet, so
basically the 2 horns are the same level. Unless you just want a newer
clarinet, you should check out a Vito VSP, a Noblet, the Yamaha 52, Selmer
Signet or CL210 or 220, or Buffet E11, E12, or E13. Hope this helps.
