I dont now what the problem with Mitchel Luries. I played them in HS
strength 4. Yes they didnt last long but they were good reeds. When I
tarted cvollege myteacher had me try V12s and they were ok for awhile
then i tried a bunch of other brands and settled on the La Voz Grand
COncert 3 3/4. Then Rico bought them out and now i play Rico Grand
COncert select thick strenth 4. I have played strenth 4 or almost every
brand of reed SOme brands such as Gs are harder and yes Mitchell Luries
are about a half strenth softer then v12s But Grand concert and v12 ae
close is strenth numbers BUt Mitchell luries are not as soft as some
people are claiming. I used them gor 8 years and still do on ocassion .
Except now I use 4 1/2 select Mithell luries when i do use them instead
of 4 regular Mitchel Lurie
