Brannen uses only his own, personally made pads. Cork on the upper join.
Double skin on the lower. My first overhaul from him was in 1986. Although
that particular instrument is now a backup b-flat, not one pad has been
replaced (in fact, I have never had a Brannen pad go bad). I use the horn for
all my outdoor work and would not hesitate to pull it out on a moment's notice
for a job should need arise.
