I would venture to say that the Grand concert reeds my have a better response,
but they're not going to last as long.

I have been playing on Vandorens for quite some time, with occasional trys
with Oliveri, La Voz, etc...

The only reed I've ever found that I like as well (sometimes better than)
Vandoren is Marca, and that is because I think when I'm in shape I get a
darker, smoother sound.

I have found Rico product's cane to have the fibers much more far apart than
the Vandoren cane. That is why their reeds are soooo soft. I used to have
beginner students use Mitchell Lurie 5 reeds so they could play high notes.
None of htem ever complained the reed was too hard. Go figure.
