Right! The tape might work as an emergency measure, to get through the
gig, but is a BAD long-term solution. When the adhesive gets old and
gooey, as it almost surely will, not only will the cork slip, but you are
likely to get the goo in all sorts of other places on your instrument where
it is undesireable.
