I have two questions.
1. I am not asking about how to prepare a new reed. BUt to those who
use the back of sandpaper or a piece of paper to "seal" a new reed. I
seal the rails as well as the table the vamp, tip and heart areas. But
do thos of you who do this also seal the butt end of the reed?

2. I pl;ay on Grand Concert Thick Strenth 4. Oncassionally ill have a
reed that plays wonderfully except it is difficult to eeither A) ply
soft or B) play loud. It is sometimes impossible to play louder then a
mezzo forte level. Does anyone have any suggetions about any
adjustments I could make to the reed or possibly ligature position that
would help this. Id hate to have a reed that is not worth using because
it is impossible to play any dynamics on.

Matt
