One of the main reasons I use Blistex is because it has sunscreen in it.
I'm a snowboarding addict (much less dangerous than skiing!) and this can
really give my lips hell. Without Blistex (or some other form of lipscreen)
playing is agony for about a week. All my wind and brass playing friends
who also ski or snowboard use it too - most of us learnt the hard way. One
guy, a trumpet player, had a particularly rough rehearsal a few weeks back,
because he had a fat lip as well as sunburn. And if I do get sunburnt lips,
Blistex helps it to heal faster.
