The technicians I have observed seem to prefer to use contact cement for
that purpose. Thoroughly clean the area where you are going to glue the
cork, put a light coating of contact cement on the metal and on the back
of the cork. Wait about 5 minutes (or whatever the directions on the glue
tell you to do), then quickly and firmly press the cork in place. If you
are using new cork, use a piece larger than needed, then trim it to size
after it is glued, using a razor blade of X-acto knife. If it is too
thick, sand it with #220 finishing sandpaper. You have to place the cork
exactly as you want it to be the first time, as you won't be able to move
it after it is in place.

Alternatively, I think you could use hot glue. Glue guns and glue are
available at all hardware stores, as is contact cement.

Remember, this advice is not coming from a repair technician. I will deny
responsibility if you glue your lips to the side of your clarinet! ;-)
