I grew up in a dairying county of Upstate New York where Bag Balm was a
standard home remedy. Although intended for treatment of abraded or tender
cows' teats, it is harmless for external use by human beings, and very
effective on chapped or abraded skin. I never put it on my lips, but it's
worth a try. You can get it at farm supply stores or from a large-animal
vet. I never saw it in a drug store. We used to get it at the GLF, now
Agway, and I would expect that if you live where Southern States is the big
farm supply chain, they'd have it too.
