Get some recordings of the medium for which you wish to play in an imitate
what you hear. When you finally are recognized by a conductor as a mature
player, then you can begin to experiment with adding jazz sounds into a
classical setting. For the most part, what you have described as your
sound, is not appropriate in the symphonic band (or orchestra) setting.
