My original clarinet, a metal "Cavalier" made in Elkhart, Indiana, was
purchased, well-used, in 1945 (for $27). It has the pin-hole mechanism for
the LH E/B and F#/C# keys.

I also have a Conn Boehm clarinet with this mechanism made of hard rubber
(or some other black, non-wood plastic material) which can be dated to
~1930 or earlier by an inscription on the bell.
