I picked up this CD on tour (back in the "old days", ie about six months
ago) and it's _great_. It's actually two CDs, "Bazh du" (black stick" and
"Musique tetue" (my guess at a translation would be "music of the head").
They play in a folk style unlike anything else I've heard, some shrieking
and wailing, some strange clarinet noises, moments when they sound like
three Sidney Bechets and two Eric Dolphys, lots of great rhythmic stuff,
beautiful tunes, amazing technique... in short I highly recommend it, but
not if you think the clarinet should only be played with a "dark, focussed
sound" ;-)
