Yes, but I'm talking about cork used between keys, levers, as bumpers etc..

you really wouldn't want that cork to change dimensions at all because it
would throw off the horn!!! And that's my point exactly: cork can change
dimensions with wear etc...

the cork used at the middle joint is not really the issue, i don't really
care about that one :)
