Subj: [kl] getting back in shape
Date: Sun, 23 Aug 1998 22:06:53 -0400

okay.....summer is over, I'm almost done working my 75 hours a week. I
never came up with the money for school, but i'm going to get a loan
now. So now I'm ready to pick up my clarinet and seriously start
practicing again. Because I am so out of shape, I don't believe I want
to pick up again using my Gigliotti P facing mouthpiece, so I'm going to
get a new mouthpiece, probably an M13. I know the routine pretty well
about getting in shape again, lots of long tones and practicing in front
of a mirror, but after a while that can get boring. I was wondering if
people have done this sort of thing before; that is completely stop
playing for 3 months. I am very motivated to start playing again, and
this 3 months of not playing has helped my TMJ alot also. I'm looking
for creative ways of developing a new embouchure, after having a set one
that is; and getting stronger in general. And help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Jennifer McKenna

P.S I've been checking the local paper for groups I can play in during
the next 6 months. Any one know of any other ways that I can find
groups to play in. Amature groups that is. Internet, phone calls,
whatever. Thanks!
