I just wanted to share my incredible good fortune with the list!
About four weeks ago, I was looking at buying a secondhand LeBlanc bass that
came up for sale here, but couldn't raise the cash. But yesterday I got a
phone call from the owner, saying that my orchestra had bought it, and that
the conductor had given it to me to look after. So I collected it today,
and I'm walking on air right now. It's a low C bass, about 5 years old but
in immaculate condition. Hasn't had much use, and plays beautifully up to
high G. After the Bundy I'm used to, it's a dream to play. I'm using a
Pomarico crystal mouthpiece, which seems to suit me and the instrument
pretty well. So I'm now the very happy guardian of this great bass - my
playing sounds so much better already!
