I lived outside of Paris for a while, and found the two best music
stores (open stacks!) to be the following [sorry about vagueness of
addresses; check in l'annuaire (phone book) when you get into town]:
La Flute de Pan
just across the street from the "Europe" Metro exit, 8th arrondissement,
on the Rue de Rome
Alphonse Leduc Editions Musicales
175 rue Saint-Honoré; my book says "Palais-Royal" Metro stop, but I
think there's one more convenient
They have manageable-sized editions of all those big French parts we've
struggled with for so many years!
Again, check the phone book for exact addresses; Leduc's actual retail
address may be a slightly different number. Bon voyage!
Chuck
