It is often very difficult to find a really good mouthpiece and may take
several years and money before you find the right one. Even if mouthpieces
are produced with lazor sharpness to be alike to other of the same model
they are different every single one.The only way to find one is to try, try,
try, try, buy, play, try, try...................

In my opinion it's even more difficult to find a good crystal mouthpiece
than a ebonite but if you find a good one you have a mouthpiece that lasts
forever if you dont break it of course. It is possible to get a nice round
and glassy sound but at the expence of some colour, richness and nuances
(again in my opinion, as always when talking about equipment).

Pomarico makes exellent moutpieces and produce the blanks for e.g vandoren
crystalmouthpieces and I know good proffesionals that use Pomarico .
I personally think Vandoren B45,B45 dot,B45 lyre and B40 are good
mouthpieces and its possible to find a good one because you have a large
amount to choose from, retailers often have more of these standard
mouthpieces in stock.
