1. (and 2.) An adjustable thumbrest made by the same company, or made FOR
that company's instruments by someone else, WILL fit without drilling. At
least in theory, all Leblanc clarinets (Leblanc, Noblet, Normandy, Vito)
use the same thumbrest and thus same screw spacing. I believe the same
would be true of Buffet and Evette, as it is for all Selmers.

3. I doubt anyone would accept returns, but the price will not be that
great, and the likelihood of success (see item 1) is high.

4. If the wood clarinet is of the same family (see above), yes.

5. Try a neckstrap to ease the pressure and relax the hand. I just started
using a DEG Claricord for sustained playing, and it does seem to help.
