Is it just me, or does this happen to anyone else as well?

That occasionally happened on mine too. I do not believe it makes a big
difference, though. It doesn't seem to affect anything and since the
plates are quite loose anyways I would expect it to occasionally sit off
centered on others too. If you don't experience any problems then it
can't be a big deal.

Changing the subject a bit, the silver plating on my Optimum has
tarnished and I am *almost* sure it is the rubber Vandoren M13
mouthpiece I use. I use one of the three plates much more than the
others and the lig as well as this plate have tarnished while the other
two plates still retain a beautiful silver shine. I recall a discussion
about how other Vandoren mouthpieces tarnished some player's silver
plated keys but that has not happened on my clarinet. Does tarnishing
happen with other people's Vandoren mouthpieces? Could it be something
other than the mouthpiece?

Salut.
