My R13 is of 1962-63 vintage. Within a month it developed a long surface
check that ran through the right side octave key post. I had it pinned (5
pins) and the horn has been fine ever since. The crack never went to the
bore. This is my main horn that I have used daily since I bought it new in
December of 1963. ($188.00!!!)
