It would be helpful to define "new" vs. "old" in the debate about Buffet R13s
and the wood from which they are made.

My Buffet R13 is of 1991-2 vintage and has never cracked.

Perhaps if enough people share their experiences here, we can come up with
some sort of empirical conclusion about the likelihood of cracking based on
year of manufacture.
