Hi Jay,

You may already be aware of this but, if not, FYI according to the reed chart in International's
catalog as well as some promotional flyers Vandoren has put in its reed boxes, V12's tend to run
softer than Vandoren regulars. This could be the reason you find altissimo easier with the
regular 3.5's. According to the International chart, a 3.5 V12 is closer to a 3 regular than to
a 3.5 regular and a 4 V12 is equivalent to a 3.5 regular. In my experience, however, the 4 V12's
(on average -- remember, by design, there is a considerable variation in strength in Vandoren
reeds) tend to run somewhere between the 3.5 and 4 regulars.
