Interesting. In the Air Force, they taught us the Valsalva maneuver as a
method to clear the ears during descent in an airplane. I've done it for
over 3000 hours of flying, mostly in B-52's, never once imagining any
connection between it and playing. But I have heard the defecation thing
discussed in relation to breath control. Maybe these are two DIFFERENT
Valsalva maneuvers?
