I've followed with great interest the discussion about the alleged
concerti by Haydn.

I'd like to get some second opinions about one offering "by" Mozart on
my Web page. It is the Cassazione for oboe, clarinet, French Horn and
bassoon. The copy from which I made the Finale file stated that it
was "discovered" in 1910. Does anyone know if it has a K.V.A. designation?
If not, is there general acceptance that it was composed by Mozart?

The L'Oiseau-Lyre notes on the envelope of my LP says, "since the first known
performances of the Cassazione (between 1910 and 1914, at Berlin and Weimar)
this work has always been attributed to Mozart. It is not listed by Kochel.
We feel, however, that music lovers will wish to hear a witty and charming
piece which has appeared on so many concert programmes under Mozart's name."

I notice also that my old (Fall, 1994) Schwann catalog does not list a
recording of the piece.

Many thanks,

Oliver
