MORE BETTONEY-BAERMANN

Reading the fingering text for the Baermann system (or the Albert) in
the Bettoney-Baermann edition, one comes across two fingerings that can
be used on the Boehm system clarinet.

The first one is high C, just above the staff.

According to this text one can also add, for the high C, the forefinger,
second and third finger of the Right hand.
In other words, those holes should be closed.
This gives quite a nice high C.
I think, though, it should be used in context of some solo.

An example is the solo in the Egmont overture by Beethoven.

It starts on Eb, the fourth space, down a semitone to D and then to high
C etc.
The C just comes out beautifully and securely (at least on my R13 )

The other nice fingering is for high E to be played ppp.
One takes the fingering for high E, BUT one keeps the forefinger of the
Left hand down and open instead the thumb hole SLIGHTLY, without
removing the thumb completely and without letting go of the speaker
key.

One gets a fabulous high E pianissimo.
