Ed,
What you need is the "Symphonic repertoire for the Bass Clarinet"
by Michael Drapkin published by Roncorp. Stanton's Music in Columbus, OH
has a couple of copies and they can ship to you. They're number is
800-426-8742. I know they have it because I saw a couple on the shelf last
week. If you can't find it let me know, I can maybe fax you a couple of
pages of these.
Some of the more well known (even to conductors) bass solos from
orchestral literature are:
Grofe, "On the Trail" from Grand Canyon Suite
Franck, Symphony in D min.
Strauss Don Quixote
Gershwin, Concerto in F
Schuman, Symphony 3
Tchaikowsky, Nutcracker
Stravinsky, Rite of Spring.

Get CD's of these and listen for the bass solos. Also, find out
what the orchestra's rep is going to be this season and if any piece has
bass clarinet. Get that part from the orchestra librarian - this will
really impress the conductor!
