The bass solos in the Gershwin are mostly short sections, but the
Nutcracker is definitely ripe with good showcase opportunities for
bass clarinet. Take a look at the Trepak dance movement for a little
flash. Elsewhere in abundance are slower, more lyrical solos, any
one of which would be suitable for your audition. Best of luck,
