I used to have trouble getting up to pitch with a Selmer HS*, and only
slightly less trouble with an HS**, to the point that I bought a shorter
barrel to overcome it. Now I use a C85 115 and have no more problem. The
HS** has about the same tip opening as your mouthpiece, so it might be
worth a shot.
