I was thinking of the 5JB too. Surprisingly(?), the Hite Premiere seems to
do real well in this kind of playing too, even though it was not designed
AS a jazz mouthpiece. It also has the advantage of being about $30 less
than the Vandoren. I suppose the standard advice applies: try them both
and keep the one you're most at ease with.
