Subj: [kl] Impressions, anyone?

Flipping through the May/June The Clarinet, I decided to peruse the
Austrailian music listings. One particular piece caught my eye
immediately: Voyage into Solitude, Op. 72 for six clarinets and
percussion, by David Morgan

The piece is written for one clarinetist playing Eb, Bb, A, Bass,
Contrabass clarinets, and basset horn. "That piece was custom written for
me!" I screamed.

Well, not reallly - I've yet to touch a basset horn. But everything else,
I'm fairly proficient in; the only notable skill I have as far as the
clarinet is that of my doubling. *shrug*

Anyone out there play this piece, or heard it? I would like to know what
I'm getting myself into before I order it.

Some other pieces I'd like to hear your impressions on:
Michael Baruk:
Blues. For Eb Contra and Marimba

Kirsty Beilharz:
Earth Essence. Solo clar/bass clar and double bass.
Torque 2. Bass Clar and percussion.

Roger Dean:
Blues Multiple. clarinet and piano

Gerald Glynn:
3 Mannheimer duos. Clarinet and bass clarinet

Any impressions you might have on any of these works, I'm eager to hear!
