Again, I don't think that myself nor anyone else has made this statement:

If a person does not like a given type of music, then he is
uneducated.

The statement that has been made is in fact:

If a person has not been educated and informed of some nuances for
which to listen, then this
lack of education may effect his or her opinion of the music in
question.

That has been one matter of confusion that I think should be clarified
before we proceed with this discussion.

Now, Karen brings up the case of people that have listened to classical
music, know its nuances, but to not like it. That is plausible, but, Karen,
do you think this is the norm or a special case? I would be willing to bet
the that majority of people who do not like classical music don't like it
because they don't give it a try, not because they have tried it and don't
like it.

While we have to be careful of generalizations of saying that EVERYONE who
doesn't like classical has not been adequately exposed to it, getting too
picky about things is also something to avoid. It is difficult to make any
generalization that is 100% true, but I personally believe that there comes
a time where, out of necessity, arguments against a reasonable fair
generalization need to be dispensed with.
