Mark--

"Classic Rock" does not mean that those bands are "classical." It means
you're old. ;-)

Sorry - if you look at the sales charts, classical is one of the lowest
percentages of sales. Classical radio has a low percentage of listeners.
That's where I get the information from (Billboard has the sales figures)
and I can generalize about classical compared to all other forms. I could
make statements based on facts for other types (if I should care to look up
the figures) but we're talking classical here.

You and your friends are not mainstream music listeners if you listen to
classical and/or buy classical music. That's not inherently good or bad,
just as buying and listening to any form of music isn't inherently good or
bad. I'd like to _think_ that listening to classical or jazz is a sign of
higher intelligence :^) - but, then again, I listen to "Classic Rock" an
awful lot ... Does that qualify as classical music (Led Zeppelin I and II,
John Mayall, Aerosmith, Nazareth, 10 Years After, CTA (later to be known as
Chicago), Cream, Jethro Tull, ELO, ELP, King Crimson, Jefferson Airplane &
Starship, John McLaughlin & the Mahavishnu Orchestra, ...)?

Cheers,
