Mr. Yokohama asks:

"If anybody here knows anything, please give
me any information about Sammy Nestico and
his work "A Study in Contrasts", things like
why a big band composer/arranger came to
compose a clarinet choir work, and to whom
it was written, when and where it was performed
for the first time and so on....
And I want to write some introductory notes
about this piece on the brochure at the
concert. But I cannot find anything so far."

I remember playing this piece for saxophone quartet.
I was under the impression that it was originally for sax
quartet. Perhaps Nestico arranged it for clarinet choir.

Nonetheless it is a very widely-played piece in
sax-quartetdom so I don't think you will have any problem
finding the qaurtet which might contain performance notes.
