The Bettoney-Baermann

Here is a quote from this book: "The advanced may consider this
suggestion which always applies in the case of the higher tones, from
high F upward.
Gently turn the mouthpiece from Left to Right, the higher the less
gently, this makes the tones more certain. Beautiful, powerful and
sonorous and may be compared to harmonics. This acoustic effect cannot
be accounted for. When the mouthpiece is turned the opposite way, from
Right to Left, the contrary happens i.e., the higher tones do not come
at all"
