Subj: [kl] Music vs. Noise

After reading some of the latest postings on the subject of what is music
and what is sound or noise I noticed this comment in my flute book on that
matter:

"In every composition there will be a thread of continuity which
should be observed and
sustained. It is this structure....that separates music from
noise."

This intrigued me, particularly because it concerns one of the topics we are
currently discussing so I thought I would share it. Any comments?

Sincerely,
