The number of people buying other than classical CDs far outweighs those
that buy classical or jazz. I was very surprised to hear from a clarinet
recording artist that selling 7000-10000 CDs was a good run. A pop group
selling 7-10 thousand CDs would be looking for a new job.
Also. remember that this list has incredibly skewed demographics; if you
didn't like classical or jazz, you probably wouldn't be on this list, and
the chances of your friends liking the same kind of music is pretty high.
If I look at the buying habits of teenagers (or any other delineated group)
I _can_ make some predictions based on the statistics. In the case of the
general populace (not just teenagers), classical or jazz music is not real
high on the list.
