Subj: [kl] Classical vs. Popular

I have to argue with the "fact" that most teens don't like classical
music. I am 17 years old, and I listen to classical music ALL the time.
I have five close friends, who are from the ages of 15-17 that also love
classical music, and many other people I associate myself with also
enjoy classical. I would rather go to a symphony concert or solo
recital than a rock concert anyday. Although I can see musical value in
any type of music that I haer, I prefer classical over the so-called
"popular".
The stereotypical teenager image that people have when it comes to music
is perhaps the most annoying one I have seen in a long time. I
understand that classical music is not for everyone, and I wish that
everyone would understand that "popular" music is not for all teens.
I've been listening to classical music for many years now, and sure I've
gotten a few comments... mostly from adults marveling at how great it
is that I listen to real music. I don't care about the opinions of my
peers. I've heard their music, I gave it a chance, and I still like my
Mozart.
