I'd suggest starting out on a 2 1/2 or 3 reed. Such you're used to better
quality reeds than plain Ricos, you could use Hemke reeds (my personal
favorite), or Vandorens, or Zondas.
Do you know if it's an alto or tenor? If you don't, here's some advice. Play
a G on the sax. If it sounds as a concert F, you've got a tenor. If it's a
concert Bb, you've got yourself a tenor.
