There are trade journals. I believe the one I see is called Music
Retailer. But you are unlikely to find something this specialized on a
newsstand. I don't know of one on instrument repair, but I would not be at
all surprised to hear that one exists. That, of course, would be even MORE
limited in distribution.

By the way, the latest exciting news from the trades is that United Musical
Instruments (UMI, makers of Artley, Armstrong, Benge, Conn, King, etc.) is
being bought by FENDER! Also, changes have been made to the Artley 17S
clarinet. I have tested it myself and proclaim that, IMHO, the instrument
is now significantly improved. It has made it all the way up to BAD! Blow
the extra couple of bucks and buy a Yamaha, Vito, Evette, or Selmer USA if
you need a plastic horn for marching.
