Why yes, as a matter of fact they do. Perhaps WVU doesn't
post the notices, but many schools offer admissions scholarships
and assistantships to qualified graduate performance majors. The
award typically involves teaching a studio of non-majors or early
undergrads, in addition to perhaps some fundamental theory courses
if competent to do so. Either a substantial portion of tuition is
deferred, or the candidate is offered a stipend (sometimes both).
Ask your music school/department for details about information
provided by grad schools across the country. Surely they keep
a file with such notices for people like yourself.

Good luck,

Neil
