I'm probably really late on this discussion, but I've been behind these past
two days as far as responses.
Karen, can you possibly take back your horn, or is it a "once you buy it, you
can't ever get your money back" ordeal? You're saying that you're saving
money now, so why not combine your refund with what you have now and buy a new
A? Or is there not enough time to accumulate the rest of the money that you
would need?
I recently purchased a Leblanc Opus A, and I love it. There is more
resistance, but there is no stuffiness. I use the same set up on the A, and
get excellent results.
If the above suggestions don't work (exchanging), perhaps you just need to
have a different setup on your A.
Or maybe some acoustical properties could be changed to delete the stuffiness
by taking it to a competent repairman.
One of my friends had to have their A readjusted, and the stuffiness is gone.
Some food for thought.....
