I wasn't sure how serious you were or weren't 'cos I saw the smiley but
wasn't sure exactly what you'd meant by it (though I did stick a lot of
'ifs'
in as back-covering). Sorry for not knowing you well enough to know you
wouldn't do such a thing more than necessary - I'm glad you don't mind
being annoying :-) Also sorry for having replied to what was a private msg;

shouldn't have, though I'm glad you don't mind. - Anyway, there are
*definitely* violinists about who are going back to older performances
for inspiration - maybe you *are* being contemporary in a different way,
really :-)). - I suppose playing pieces someone else's way & not yours is
good training for orchestral work, though, but that's a bit different. - It
must be a pain trying to work out how judges want you to play, especially
if you've never seen them before... does it actually ever work and is it
worth
it when it does? (Serious question, for you or anybody who reads this and
feels like answering it.)
