You don't have to be famous to endorse a product. You or I can endorse
products. If you mean being a "Leblanc Artist" or "Buffet Artist" or "<you
name it> Artist" - the company approaches you and offers some sort of
compensation for your endorsing the product. The compensation may be
clarinets, money, travel, etc. You're expected to endorse the products, give
recitals, concerts, and master classes, and other things for your end of the
deal (they all have to do with good PR). The contracts vary in their
requirements.
