Roger--

I am incredibly interested!!

I have used Fibercell reeds on the bigger horns (bass cl & tenor saxophone)
for a while--but have found them to be less satisfactory for soprano
clarinets and the smaller saxophones (perhaps because the reeds are "more
critical" in those applications, or perhaps because I am not a particularly
accomplished bass clarinetist). If there are synthetic reeds that work on
clarinet, I would be an enthusiastic purchaser.

I've posted this to the list as well, as I imagine that others will be
interested too.

At the Clarinet Fest, there were plastic reeds that had been developed by
two chemists - using polymers......and they played incredibly well. I
purchased three Bb's and two Bass Clarinet reeds of slightly varying
strengths.........I and another person who was with me (a terrific
clarinetist!) tried them out for 15 minutes........at 10 bucks a pop, with
a 6 week wait, we felt it was a good thing to pay for.

I have additional info if anyone is interested.
