Some of you may wonder why suddenly I hva so much time to sit at the
computer! Well, I just had a very minor surgery and the doc instructed me
to stay off of my feet for two days! So here I am.

I wrote a rather extensive article for "The Clarinet" in fall of 1986
(Vol 13, no.2). It is entitled "Tuning the clarinet: procedure and
technique". In that article I detail the process of carefully tuning an
instrument. There is a section devoted to undercutting. I am EMBARASSED
that I missed a very important typo. In the second and third paragraph I
meant to say: "Each fundamental mode of the clarinet can be excited into
vibrating at its SECOND partial..." This thing is going to haunt me for the
rest of my life!! I did clarify that I was speaking of the interval of a
twelfth, however.

I have a very simple pamphlet entitled "Clarinet Equipment &
Intonation" with this article and some others that I have written.I will be
happy to mail to anyone that is interested. Just send me a check for $4.
This just covers the cost of printing and mailing. All material is
copyrighted. Some of the material appears in the Sneezy archives as well.
