Subj: [kl] Design questions for Mr. Kloc
Date: Thu, 23 Jul 1998 12:39:19 -0400

I have made observations between my new Greenline and wood R-13's regarding
sharp corners on tone holes (interior surface) and ends of the tubes.
According to Benade, sharp corners produce turbulence and have a negative
acoustical effect on tone. My questions are:

1.) Does Buffet intentionally round corners - slightly, of coarse - on their
clarinets?
2.) Does the Greenline tend to have sharper edges due to the material?
3.) How are the corners rounded (if they are)?

Thanks for your time.
