How about these:

In measure 146 of the first movement of the Mozart concerto, using this alternate
fingering for the Eb allows one to use a long fingering for the G# that follows
(either #3 or #8 in the Ridenour book) thus avoiding what Ridenour calls, "probably
the worst standard fingering in the upper register."

In the 12th measure after rehersal no. 5 in the first movement of the
Castelnuovo-Tedesco Sonata, using this fingering facilitates the octave downward
leap to Eb.

This is indeed a useful fingering to have in the arsenal.
