Elise writes that she has performed both ends of the Schubert song.
And as I thought about that, I have to conclude that it must have
been in two separate performances, one singing, and one playing
clarinet. And the reason why I came to that conclusion was because
there is a respectable amount of work where the two voices are
performing together (though there is a lot of separate work, too).

Years ago, I played an opera of Gian Carlo Menotti called "Help,
Help, The Globolinks." In it, one of the sopranos sang and
accompanied herself on the violin.

But can that be done in Shepherd on the Rock???
